The HOKA ONE ONE Evo Mafate 2 is back with an enhanced upper to complement its signature cushioning and aggressive outsole.From the bottom up, the Evo Mafate starts off strong with an aggressive 5mm Vibram MegaGrip rubber outsole that maintains traction when the situation gets slippery.Nestled above the outsole sits an R-BOUND midsole which is a lighter version of the responsive and durable R-MAT material found on the original Mafate. Paired with a softer EVA top layer, the EVO Mafate delivers a stripped-down feel with plenty of protection for ultra-marathon distances.Finally, the upper continues to consist of the extremely durable, lightweight, and secure MATRYX material that is reinforced with Kevlar. However, in this latest version, the MATRYX was tweaked and a stretchy lycra strip was added to the forefoot to improve comfort and flexibility.
